The Maritime Rescue Co-Ordination Centre is located at Swingate Battery, on the famous White Cliffs above Dover Port. It deals with the Channel Navigation Information Service (CNIS). CGOC Dover deals with all of the marine traffic which needs to report before entering the North-East corridor of the English Channel, while Cross Gris-Nez in France deals with all of the reporting traffic entering the South-West corridor.
